BPC-157

The most studied repair peptide, used in research on tendon, muscle, and gut healing.

What it is

BPC-157 is a synthetic chain of 15 amino acids taken from a protective protein found in human gastric juice. It is stable in stomach acid, which is why oral versions exist alongside injectable ones.

How it works

Animal research points to increased blood vessel formation at injury sites, upregulation of growth factor receptors in tendon cells, and effects on nitric oxide and dopamine signalling. In plain terms, it appears to help damaged tissue build new supply lines faster.

What it is researched for

  • Tendon and ligament repair
  • Muscle tears and post-training soreness
  • Stomach and intestinal lining damage
  • Joint comfort during rehab

Research status

Extensive animal data, very limited human trial data. Not approved as a medicine in the US. Sold for research purposes only.

What to watch for

  • Injection site redness or bruising
  • Light headedness in the first few doses for some people
  • No reliable long-term human safety record

Storage

Lyophilised powder keeps in the freezer or fridge, away from light. Once reconstituted with bacteriostatic water, keep it refrigerated and use it within about four weeks.

Common questions

Is BPC-157 injected near the injury?

Research protocols use both systemic subcutaneous dosing and dosing near the injured area. Animal work suggests systemic dosing still reaches the injury site.

How long do research protocols usually run?

Most cited protocols run 4 to 8 weeks, then pause and reassess.
