TB-500

A systemic repair peptide studied for cell migration and scar tissue.

What it is

TB-500 is a synthetic version of the active region of Thymosin Beta-4, a naturally occurring peptide found in nearly every human cell and in wound fluid.

How it works

It binds actin, the protein cells use to change shape and move. That appears to let repair cells travel to damaged tissue more easily, with research also noting new blood vessel growth and reduced scar formation.

What it is researched for

  • Widespread or older injuries rather than one hot spot
  • Flexibility and scar tissue quality
  • Muscle and heart tissue repair in animal models

Research status

Animal and preclinical data. Banned by WADA for competitive athletes. Research use only.

What to watch for

  • Fatigue in the first week of loading for some users
  • Head rush after injection
  • Prohibited in tested sport

Storage

Lyophilised powder keeps in the freezer or fridge, away from light. Once reconstituted with bacteriostatic water, keep it refrigerated and use it within about four weeks.

Common questions

Why pair TB-500 with BPC-157?

They act through different routes. BPC-157 is often described as local and fast, TB-500 as systemic and slower. Repair protocols frequently run them together.

Can athletes in tested sport use it?

No. It appears on the WADA prohibited list.
